A PolkaDot Tube for my Sausages

I was reading a post from Ms. Mammas Blog about these leggin's for babies. I love the kewl and unusual baby clothing so I did some research on these babylegs and found a great store in my area and purchased a pair of the unique leggins. And, I love em. They don't fit Sofiedove as well as True, but I still love these. They accentuate her little sausage-like thighs.

THANKS Ms. Mamma!!!!!

The Working World

Since I stay home to raise the SofieDove, I sometimes daydream about when I used to work. I sort of miss the day to day grind, making lists, accomplishing the lists, then getting a paycheck for my efforts. I do love staying home with my ankle biter, but sometimes I miss the adult interaction that has 'purpose' rather than talking to other SAHMs about diaper rash or what color my little cherub pooped up when I gave her oreo cookies.

So I have been thinking about the various types of personalities that I have seen in the work environment. These are the personalities of people I've worked with since I've graduated college.

* Mr. Belligerent - The guy who always seems to walk around the office with a chip on his shoulder. He is usually very assertive in meetings, often raising his voice to others for no reason.
* The Useless Interjector - This is the wise guy who likes to add a little useless comment at every meeting. He is sometimes funny, but his little comments often increase the length of these meetings by a lot. I have seen entire groups digress from the main topic of the meeting for 5-10 minutes after Mr. Useless Intejector makes some funny off-topic comment.
* Mr. Cynical - There are sometimes many Mr. Cynicals in a group. Personally, I like talking to the cynics because they are usually funny, and they have an outlook on life so different than my own. Usually these people like to make snide remarks about upper management. These are the "Dilbert" workers, who often complain among themselves in small pockets of angst.
* Mr. Limitless Energy (also known as Mr. Happy) - This guy is usually the opposite of Mr. Cynical. These are the workers with personalities like a young puppy, who like to volunteer for everything and always maintain a positive attitude around the office. These are the people who avidly preach company spirit, and they often support the little Human Resources team building activities (the kind of activities that Mr. Cynical makes fun of -- like "role playing" and "brainstorming").
* The Kid - There is always a youngest member of 'the team'. It does not matter if everyone on the team is 70 years old, because the 60 year old guy will be "the kid". I have been the kid at my previous jobs. The others sometimes look at you as the one who's 'most knowledgeable' when it comes to the computer and accessing information via the web.
* Young Executive - This is the person whose every move seems to be a ploy to become a Vice President. They are very ambitious and are always trying to project an image of success by wearing a suit on casual Fridays and calling the 'uppers' sir and Mr. so-n-so. Brown nosers.
* Dazed and Confused - The person who nobody will take responsibility for hiring. This person's most notable feature is the blank stare when asked any sort of question.

Wow, I just read over this list, and it sounds pretty negative. I did not mean to be so negative (you'd think I am a Mr. Cynical based upon my observations), but I guess the negative traits are more interesting than the positive traits.

When I was thinking of these types of personalities, I pictured a particular person from my 'working days'. Funny, when I complied this list I was thinking to myself, "Gawd, I hated working with that bastard."

Staying home ain't so bad. I don't have anything to bitch about being in my own environment. I create my own positive little social sphere. I surround myself in colors that make me happy, a temperature that makes me happy, sounds that make me happy and everytime I open the backdoor arming myself with a camera, I have a world to wonder in and rediscover.

Puddin' Face

My favorite part of dinner is the chocolate creamy silky yumminess that comes out of this little plastic thingy.

When I take a bite I instantly go "hmmmm".

hey, don't do that while I'm eating MOM. sheesh

If you think I'm sharing, your nuts. This is m-i-n-e.

This is so good that I've put some up my nose. Small snack for later. Thinking ahead here. Pretty smart eh? I'm teasing you with my chocolateness all over my chubby body. Hmmmm, pudding. So good.

I love my pudding. Love Love Love Love. If I could have mommy give me pudding everyday, I'd be a really good girl... for 3 minutes. :)

A Camping we will go, a camping we will go!

I haven't been camping in a while. I'm guessing it's been 3 years. It's something I like to do, but I guess being that I have a toddler I was opting out of not doing it due to my mind telling me it's probably going to be way more work than I wanted to tackle. I had a plethera of reasons. Or should I say excuses!

Anywhooo, a friend of mine mentioned she was going camping with her young children and my mouth piped in before my brain's rusty wheel started to groan and I said, "Hey sounds like fun, we'd love to go too!" I found myself hours later airing out the ol' tent. It's a rather nice tent, it's a Kelty. Since it was just my husband and I, we got a dome tent that sleeps 4. (we needed room for our dogs)

Sofie was without a sleeping bag, so I scurried to Tarjet and got her one that comes in a little backpack with a little waterbottle and a little flashlight. It's little. And cute. Anything pint sized is cute. Oh did I mention it was PINK!???!! I'm going to go this week and get her name embroidered on it. I think it'll be a hoot. I found myself jealous that she got a pink one, so I got a pink one too. :)) We match. I'm going to get either my initals or MOM put on mine in script. I need some fancy with my dirt and bugs. I do already have a great sleeping bag, it's rated for cooler temps like 20 degrees, but this one is rated for 40 degrees. I think the major difference is the inside of my other one has a fleece lining where this cheaper but PINK one has the same silky poly lining. It's not as nice, but it's pink. :) There's alway's suffering with sacrifice. Fashion has to count for something.

It was just us mom's camping with our little ones. It was quite the bonding experience. Sofie did really well. I need to give my peanut more credit. She did really really well. She didn't cry, whine, ball, brawl, bitch, moan, complain, scratch, bite, hit, fuss, tell me where to stick it, spit, scratch, fight, kick, well, you get the jist of the list. She just played and played and was a 'typical' toddler. I couldn't ask for anything more. If I did, she'd be boring and sit next to me with a blank look in her eyes. She's awesome. And I'm not saying that cause 'she's my kid'. She is awesome.

As you can see, she helped in the setting up chores. Here she is opening her umbrella.

Here's she's pitching up her chair and inserting the umbrella so she can have shade (she's very shade conscious).

Getting the salsa and having some laughs with good friends

And that my friends, THAT is what life is all about. If you were ever wondering the meaning of life, it's just that. Having salsa and some laughs with friends. It's easy to make life complicated. It's hard to make life just what it should be.

Bring you kid(s) camping. It's good for their (and your) mental health.

:))

PS, I have more pix of the camping here, if you're interested.

Get a Job

Okay, so I read this site. I've commented before about this site on MY BLOG, I have yet to post a comment, or write a segment about blemishes. I won't and never will. No desire to. This woman, I can't describe how I feel about her. I'm not sure if I'm just not understanding in to the 'why' she decided to post this little segment on her angry friend. I do know that she's a little too excited about her blemishes. Read on..

A happy surprise!
First post. I had to create an alter ego because *sniffle* I am so ashamed of my affinity for the nasty.

Okay, so I could feel an angry zit coming on, on my cheek near my nose. So when I went to have a little look-see, I noticed that it was just a reddish bump so far with no white head. Knowing that this can be deceptive, and often the pressure of the pus not having been brought to the surface makes for an EXCELLENT spurt, I decided to give it a little squeeze.

The next part is very magical. I think it was a combination of the amount of pressure I applied, the exact moment I took the pressure off, and the tough skin that had developed because I had been touching it all day. I squeezed it, and I felt that great release and it popped. Nice white gook! I went to wipe it off my skin, but nothing happened...so I looked, and it had NOT popped! My squeezing had just brought all the pus to the surface!!! WHAT A FABULOUS FAKE OUT!!! I GOT TO POP IT AGAIN!!! Oh man, it was like multiple orgasms. I gave it another squeeze, and although it didn't spurt hard enough to make a spatter, that I got to do it twice was satisfying enough. It was so beautiful and amazing. I've never had that happen before.

But I also have a tale of woe. I had an ingrown hair from a Brazilian I'd gotten. That sucker grew and grew and got tender but I could NOT get it to pop. So I decided to bide my time, knowing my patience would be rewarded. But you know what happened? I went into the bathroom to pee, pulled my panties down, and noticed a small, hard whitish spot with just a couple pin-head sized dots of blood on my panties. My glorious ingrown hair HAD POPPED WITHOUT ME! I felt /totally/ shafted. All that tenderness and build up for nothin'.

Okeeee then. And if you think THAT'S wacked, here's what people had to say about her post...(my commentaries/personal opinions are NEXT to the posts in **ITALICS**)

Someone to hold the camera while we pop our own zits. Now I can capture my satification AND have sex with someone!!! I'm not going to be alone anymore!! Oh my god! Oh my god!!!**

...but what are you so afraid of? **this is a reverse psychology dare, she really is doing tapdances under her computer desk hoping and praying she can lure with her zit goo. If must be hard to hold a camera and pop your lovely zits. I wonder if they scrapbook them?**

(C'mon, you were asking for it.)

I'm sad to hear of your ingrown. I get those too and they are fabulous to squeeze. **Fabulous??** I'm wondering about the multiple popping zit though. Did the "core" come out the second time? I keep reading about those although I'm not sure what they are. So what are they? **this person has WAY too many questions about zits**

Eeewwweeee! I actually found a surprise ingrown hair last night. Aprox. 1 inch in length. What a great find! **I think finding a twenty dollar bill on the ground a good find. But hey, that's just me.**

You can tell when a core comes out. The flesh feels rather empty after it goes. The irritating, when will that stick stop poking me? feeling goes away. Sometimes, the core is a sesame seed. Sometimes, it is a spongy white column. It always allows a relief and contentment. **pepto bismal and a strong sedative would be relief after reading this comment**

that is a beautiful and perfect description! **this person doesn't appreciate fine art, unless it's the art of popping**

Sweet and Sour

She may look innocent sleeping there, in her bed. As you can see, she's been a little busy before sleeping... remaking her bed. She prefers her crib with the "more lived in look" by dis-logging the sheet and building a nest around her head with what ever she can. Don't be fooled by this sleeping baby...she's a repeat offender.

World, meet the window treatment terrorizer. She's on her third blind. She's going for the white trash look, which is fitting because her window is on the street side, so I'm sure the neighbors are feeling her style.

These pictures were taken in unison. She destroys then naps. As you can see, she's satisfyed with her destruction, so she must rest. The beast is napping. My little beast. Destructive little beast.

Still Digging

It's taking more time than I wanted it to because the weather is not COOPERATE. It's been really muggy. I hate muggy and muggy hates me. I've gotten some progress though. The grass and rose bushes are gone. It's hard to tell, but I've planted 2 types of hostas and I need to go and get my tree and other various flowers. Hopefully I'll get to pick them up tomorrow. :)

Next to the steps I planted 2 Minnesota Dwarf Mockoranges.

They smell sooooo good. I can smell them from the other side of my yard on a breezy day. Then rocked in around them to make it a solid area around the stairs. I'm putting some black-eyed susans in front of the porch along with some purple salvia and possibly something red. I'll figure it out when I get to Otten Brothers.

Here's some other landscaped areas I did in the last few summers. This one was just to get rid of the grass along the shore. It wasn't 'great grass' and the sprinklers never watered it well enough. So I just put in some spirillas. Pink blooms on them and the leaves turn yellow in the fall. They'll get alot bigger. They were really small when I put them in last summer. This area is full sun all day long. It gets pretty dry. Spirilla's don't need much water THANK GOD.

This was done a few summers ago, when I was about 6 months pregnant. There's a platform in the middle with chairs. I planted Astilibes in all colors in the back of the platform and hostas along the shoreline. Two big hydrangas with white blooms are planted on both sides of the stepping stones. I had to use the white variety because they would get mostly shade. This area gets little sun, maybe 2-4 hours a day due to it's directly under a huge oak tree.

That's my yard! Not so exciting but I put the labor in it so I'm happy with it. I've never had a plant die so I don't have a brown thumb, but I wouldn't say by any means I have a great greenie. I wish I had a knack for putting together lavish beautiful flower filled gardens. Mine are sorta just regular looking. I'm not unhappy with them, but when I do drive-by's and see beautiful gardens, I wish I could re-create that. One reason why I probably can't is price. Plants are pretty expensive. I have to budget since I stay home.

One thing great about gardening, is when you get a good base garden going, you can add to it in future years. Then the garden looses that 'new sparse' look and when you add to it, it gets fuller and more plush looking. I love plush!

Well, that's the Tour du Jardens a Christine! My next garden post will be when it's finished. Probably around August. Heh.

Still on Hiatus

Hockey still is going on. Hard to believe since it's so fricken' hot outside. I wish I had some ice to lay down on. I do have airconditioning. THANK GOD. I keep the downstairs at a cool 67 and the up usually doesn't get lower than 70, which I may add is fine for sleeping. I really have no new updates to report. I'm basically glued to the TV from 6:30pm to 11:00pm. Lame but eh, whatever.

I'm building a garden. Here's a pic of it right now. It's in the middle of being dug up, the grass is slowly being chopped out. The rose bushes are going along with the rock.

I'm currently leveling the pavers along this area and against the screened in porch. The larger area is going to have a PG Hydrangria Tree similar to this one here, but in our zone here, the tree is more bonsi like, only gets to about 8 ft tall and about 2-3 feet wide. The trunk won't get very thick. But it will have flowers from late May-August. Very cool. Spendy little bugger, but darn cute.

Around the tree will be tons of cone flowers (all varieties), some salvia (medium purple that only gets 12-18 inches high) and a few varigated hostas against the windows.

I'm still debating what to put against the screened in porch. I don't know if I want a structured look, or the shaggy wild look.

The rest will fall into place. I'm going to natural cedar woodchips. They smell delicious and aren't corporate 'orange'. Just a natural mild orange that fades to grey after a season. I usually 'refresh' my woodchips every season, mix some old with new. Makes everything seem newish again.

No other major projects for myself. I'll sit and primp the garden all summer. I'll put photos on here for the next stage: planting. Hopefully I'll have that done by early next week??? Depends now humid it gets. I hate the heat and espically when it's mixed with humidity. I can't handle dewpoints over 62. Ick.
