Hockey still is going on. Hard to believe since it's so fricken' hot outside. I wish I had some ice to lay down on. I do have airconditioning. THANK GOD. I keep the downstairs at a cool 67 and the up usually doesn't get lower than 70, which I may add is fine for sleeping. I really have no new updates to report. I'm basically glued to the TV from 6:30pm to 11:00pm. Lame but eh, whatever.

I'm building a garden. Here's a pic of it right now. It's in the middle of being dug up, the grass is slowly being chopped out. The rose bushes are going along with the rock.



I'm currently leveling the pavers along this area and against the screened in porch. The larger area is going to have a PG Hydrangria Tree similar to this one here, but in our zone here, the tree is more bonsi like, only gets to about 8 ft tall and about 2-3 feet wide. The trunk won't get very thick. But it will have flowers from late May-August. Very cool. Spendy little bugger, but darn cute.


Around the tree will be tons of cone flowers (all varieties), some salvia (medium purple that only gets 12-18 inches high) and a few varigated hostas against the windows.

I'm still debating what to put against the screened in porch. I don't know if I want a structured look, or the shaggy wild look.



The rest will fall into place. I'm going to natural cedar woodchips. They smell delicious and aren't corporate 'orange'. Just a natural mild orange that fades to grey after a season. I usually 'refresh' my woodchips every season, mix some old with new. Makes everything seem newish again.

No other major projects for myself. I'll sit and primp the garden all summer. I'll put photos on here for the next stage: planting. Hopefully I'll have that done by early next week??? Depends now humid it gets. I hate the heat and espically when it's mixed with humidity. I can't handle dewpoints over 62. Ick.
